Meals on Wheels and Congregate Dining
Post Date: 05/19/2004

Good nutrition is essential for healthy living. Eating the right foods is especially important for the elderly, and the Center for Active Generations can help seniors get well balanced meals.
There are many reasons why an elderly person may have difficulty eating three nutritious meals a day.

Reasons may include:
difficulty preparing meals
eating alone
loss of appetite
lack of energy
difficulty feeding oneself
need for “special” menus (diabetic)
difficulty swallowing
cost

The Center for Active Generations Adult Nutrition Program offers both congregate dining in a social setting and home-delivered Meals on Wheels.

If you have concerns about your aging loved one eating properly or would like more information, please visit:
